The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping and faster response times and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mopping. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad and get to work, and I noticed that it was more precise than previous models that seemed to follow a gridded path around rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dust bin and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

Its mapping system lets you create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However it tends to get into things (including its charging dock) and isn't always great at climbing over carpets. It was capable of picking up pet hair from floors that were bare However, during our tests, it took in 89.5 percent of litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we've tested.

It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested to date and offers an exceptional value for the price. Its navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it's less effective than other models in this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into the corners. Its mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as floor surfaces that are bare. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability.
